The Legg family was an important one in the draper business. The shop must have been founded by Daniel Legg (ca.1696-1751) and his brother John. Daniel's son, Leaver Legg (1722-1775) took over the business until his death in 1775. His son Leaver Legg Junior continued the family business at 70 Cornhill until his death in November 1802.
